Sing Out! Magazine needs help

Pete Seeger is asking us to join together to help a folk music institution! Since 1950, Sing Out! Magazine has been one of the most
effective and respected ways for musicians to share and learn. As Sing Out! heads towards its 60th anniversary next spring, its
non-profit parent -- which also produces "Rise Up Singing," Sing Out! Radio Magazine, and Pete's newly revised autobiography "Where Have
All the Flowers Gone" -- is fighting for survival. Throughout its existence, Sing Out! has always operated close to the bone
financially, but recent economic conditions, along with the current state of the print trade and periodicals, have come together to put
the very existence of the magazine and organization in real danger. If you care about folk music, and want one of its community's
strongest voices and allies to survive, I urge you to check out Pete's message at: <http://www.singout.org/donate.html>. (You can
help by passing this message on to others you think should know about this too!)

P.S. For anyone who isn't on one of our regular mailing lists and hasn't seen the campaign, you can use the link to see a video appeal
and letter from Pete.

Johnson Ford has signed on as another sponsor.  They are donating a brand new Mustang to an active-duty soldier.  Families are invited to go the Johnson Ford and put their soldier's name in a hat.  Drawing is in December.  The car will be on display the night of our concert, on the front lawn of St John's Episcopal Church, 207 Albany Ave., Kingston.

Great news, Darraine Scoffield and Larry Federman are joining Gil Toro and Ed Kenney to play in Lisa Dudley's Prairie Dog band.  Darraine and Larry are in the hot country band, Thunder Ridge.  Yee-Ha!

Oh, and don't forget the flag ceremony.  It's gonna be great.  The VFW is sending a color guard and so are the Girl Scouts.  We're hoping to hear from the Boy Scouts!

You can still get tickets online at www.lisadudley.com or at Burt's Electronics in Kingston.  Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.  Even if you can't come, please buy a ticket and help us help the veterans.

Profits benefit Fisher House, a home-away-from-home for families of wounded soldiers.

This is a concert for the re-release of the BROAD OLD RIVER Cd, with all the original 12 cuts plus 5 more and one story.  Originally released in 1986 as a vinyl record, the songs stand the test of time, and are as stirring as ever.  I am proud to have been one of the original co-producers, with Steven Stanne, and John Guth as engineer working his magic on fragile tape way back then.  The current incarnations have been organized by Mel Healy, who is preserving this wonderful slice of Clearwater history.
